When I found out about the NTC Tour event, I had to jump on it!
And it definitely didn't disappoint. Let me tell you, Nike really knows how to throw an affair. With a couple of girlfriends, I entered the workout wonderland, actually, Nike-land and drank it all in.
Upon arrival they gave us a goodie bag filled with sweet workout swag – a Nike water bottle, a Nike towel, a Nike t-shirt, deodorant, face wipes, lip balm, and vouchers for local health and wellness digs.
The venue was infused with inspirational quotes and I couldn’t help but feel pumped and ready to bring it! We hit all the “experience stations” before and in-between our workout sessions. At the braid bar a stylist gave me the prettiest waterfall braids into a ponytail. And now I’m obsessed with braids –I mean, what a perfect solution to the messy bun for workout hair (still a good go-to, but ya need a change once in a while). There was also a nail bar, a fuel bar with delectable smoothies and wraps, a massage bar, t-shirt personalization, and fun photo snapping spots.
And of course, the workout class schedule, which consisted of Yoga, a HIIT workout, strength training, and dance fusion. Each class had it’s own tented and air-conditioned space. But it’s still outdoors in Dubai, which means we were unavoidably drenched, before we even started. #TheSweatLife. We jumped, squatted, danced and downward dogged until our limbs were like Jell-O. It was awesome.
The night came to an end and just in case we didn’t get enough freebies, they handed everyone a Nike yoga mat on the way out.
I am now dreaming of swooshes – nice work, Nike.
It was a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My favourite thing I will take away from this experience is to braid my hair. Yes, it was all about the braids for me. Whether you love your current workout routine or whether it’s starting to feel stale, the braid is a great sprucer-upper!
